MATT GREY

Lead Singer

Matt grew up the son of a preacher in small town Indiana. His passion for singing led him to Los Angeles after high school, where he's been hired for numerous national tv/radio/internet commercials (Michelin, Burger King, Heinz, Sony) and film/television projects (NCIS, NCIS New Orleans, Animal Planet, Food Network). He's also co-written songs for Cheech & Chong and legendary producer Lou Adler. Matt is one of the founding members of Stone Soul, performing with them since 2002.

TOM CURRY

Drums, Percussion

Maui, HI

Tom grew up playing in various show bands throughout the Hawaiian islands. Since moving to Los Angeles he has worked steadily as a producer, engineer and songwriter and has toured and played with many rock, punk and soul bands. He also has a hit European song to his credit. He is the original drummer for Stone Soul, joining in 2002.

REX MERRIWEATHER

Trumpet, Fluglehorn

Chicago, IL

Rex has played with Ray Charles, Lou Rawls and Arturo Sandoval and has opened for Foreigner, Maynard Ferguson and Mitch Ryder & the Detroit Wheels. He has also been featured on TV shows "Allie McBeal" and "South Park" as well as numerous film and commercial projects. His big band This Ain't Your Daddy's Big Band is one of the most sought-after Big Bands on the West Coast. Rex is the original trumpet player, joining the band in 2002.

DANNY MOYNAHAN

Saxophone, Vocals

Danny is a composer, singer/songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist.  He made his debut in the Los Angeles music scene as a saxophonist with The J-Walkers and L.A. ska pioneers The Untouchables.  Nowadays, he spends much of his time scoring for film but also performs original compositions with his own trio and vintage lounge cinema band Boss Knob. He’s been a proud member of the Stone Soul horn section since 2002.

CLAY MANSKA

Keyboards, Vocals

Malibu, CA

Clay had two Top 5 singles in Mexico as musical director for the band Lucretia, opening for Alice Cooper's North American Tour. Clay has composed scores for movies, TV and documentaries (USA Network, Discovery Channel, TLC), plus many commercials. He's also produced for Indie Rock, Pop and Hip-Hop artists. He joined the band in 2009.

JOHN NEVOLO

Since relocating to Los Angeles John has performed with pop singer Tiffany, International artist Noelia, Helen Reddy and also entertainer Branscombe Richmond. John joined the band in 2013.

LANCE RICKMAN

Saxophones, Flute

Los Angeles, CA

As a composer, arranger, producer and band leader, Lance has worked with the original Temptations, Tony Bennett, Charo, Cab Calloway, Nancy Wilson, Al Martino, Diane Shuur and  Jack Jones (to name a few). He's appeared with American Idols Bo Bice and Taylor Hicks on the Tonight Show and GMA and performed with the legendary blues guitarist Roy Gaines and the Tuxedo Blues Orchestra at the 2018 Playboy Jazz Festival at the Hollywood Bowl. He performs with many L.A. area jazz and big bands, including his own jazz quartet Lance & the Tomcats. Lance joined Stone Soul in 2015.

DAVID ABERCROMBIE

Bass, Vocals

Jacksonville, FL

David has played with a variety of bands since moving to Los Angeles, most notably the 60's hippie retro band Aquarius. He's also an in-demand producer/recording engineer as well as a prolific songwriter. David is the newest member of Stone Soul, joining in 2018.
